  • INHALATION
    		• Corrosive. Burning sensation. Cough. Laboured breathing.
    		Local exhaust or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• Corrosive. Redness. Burning sensation. Blisters.
    		Protective gloves.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Corrosive. Redness. Pain. Blurred vision. Severe deep burns.
    		Safety goggles or face shield.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Corrosive. Abdominal pain. Burning sensation. Collapse.
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Sweep spilled substance into containers. Wash away remainder with plenty of water.
    		Separated from acids. Dry.

     WHITE, HYGROSCOPIC POWDER.

     The substance is a strong base, it reacts violently with acid and is corrosive. The solution in water is a strong base, it reacts violently with acid and is corrosive to aluminium and zinc.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
     TLV (as Al (soluble salts)): ppm; 2 mg/m3 (as TWA) (ACGIH 1992-1993).


    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     Evaporation at 20░C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Corrosive on ingestion. Inhalation of the dust may cause lung oedema (see Notes). The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.
